Stretch Goal - Fiasco on Roll20!

You've been waiting for us to let you in on our grand plans, and it's finally time!

We've been in talks with the excellent team at Roll20 about bringing Fiasco online, and now it's happening. So here's the deal:

At $120k, we will not only offer the new version of Fiasco on Roll20 but Kickstarter backers will be able to get their hands on it for free!

The plan is to put the core game in the Roll20 marketplace and we'll include it as a free add-on in BackerKit. Any backer getting the digital rewards ($10 or more) will be able to add it there and we'll send you a code to redeem in the marketplace. It's foolproof! What could go wrong?

See it in action TONIGHT on Twitch!

Tonight at 9:30pm EDT Jason & friends will stream Fiasco on Twitch.tv/actualplay and we'd love for you to join us! We'll have a prototype version in Roll20 and you can let us know what you think in chat! Please join us if you can, and tell your friends to tune in and check out the game!

If you can't make it, we'll be sure to link the recorded version when it's up on YouTube!

Fiasco Shipping Estimates
over 4 years ago – Sat, Aug 10, 2019 at 02:48:41 PM

Hello everyone!

Thanks for your patience as we've assembled our preliminary shipping numbers. Here are our current estimates, based on a single boxed set as well as with all three expansion packs.

Please keep in mind that these are estimates, and with things as they are in the UK/EU, these numbers could change. We're continuing to work with our shipping partners and will adjust as needed as we get closer to charging for shipping.

Also, while we say "the rest of the world" there are some restrictions imposed by our partners- shipping to Russia, Brazil, China, Israel, and Saudi Arabia may incur additional charges, due to increased difficulties shipping to there. We'll continue to look for affordable options.

If shipping charges turn out to be too expensive for you, you will be able to request a refund of your pledge amount after the campaign through BackerKit, either by sending us a Kickstarter message or email to [email protected]

Thanks again!

Proof of Game

Evidence of Fiasco at Games on Demand at GenCon 2019
Evidence of Fiasco at Games on Demand at GenCon 2019

Gen Con was really nice this year. Our dear friend Alex Roberts won the Diana Jones Award, which was a good way to start things off.

I spent a lot of time at Games on Demand, which felt pretty flawless and chill in execution to me. I offered a few different short games, including Fiasco, but the strong favorite - which I ran SIX TIMES - was Alex Dodge's heist-gone-wrong game Lead & Gold. The runner-up was my own game Space Post, which I ran three times (and only exists because of our Drip patrons and friends).

We launched the Kickstarter, of course, and launching a Kickstarter during Gen Con is kind of an idiotic flex - we got a lot of "you stupid, stupid bastards, I salute your audacity", and it seems to have worked. Our home team of Jenn and Brennen kept the wheels on the (burning) bus. Steve helped out at Games on Demand while trying to stay out of everyone's way AND ran games AND oversaw the Kickstarter AND stayed completely, resolutely calm the whole time.

I offered the new Fiasco on Gen Con's Twitch channel (see below) with my pals Banana Chan, Brennan Taylor, and Krin Irvine, which felt more like having fun than a high-pressure live broadcast. Later on the Gen Con mobile team also cornered me for a demo, so there will be plenty of video of the new Fiasco out there soon.

I saw many old friends and made new ones and it was just lovely. Thanks to everyone who was kind or enthusiastic about my work or fun or smart or all of these things, so thanks to literally everyone I interacted with.

The ambitious video script...

A little fun

We thought we'd share the beginning of the original video script, written by Jenn. It was a bit ambitious- especially considering she's all the way in Illinois and couldn't help actually shoot it!

Fiasco on She's a Super Geek!

She's a Super Geek podcast got a prototype and recorded their play through, which you can listen to here. They played the Business Casual playset, which was in the prototype version but will not be in the final production version of the boxed set. We are still finalizing stretch goals for added expansion packs, though, so stay tuned for news about that!

Watch it Live

Jason will be playing Fiasco on twitch.tv/actualplay on Tuesday August 13th at 9:30pm EDT. We've got some amazing friends joining us and you can ask questions or comment on our character's terrible ideas in the chat!

Print & Play Issues

We're chasing down a few issues with the print and play files- sorry about that! Please let us know if anything else doesn't print right or looks off!

  • The Blue aftermath 0 & 1 card fronts printed on the wrong backs of the engine deck - FIXED
  • There are some missing Locations on the Poppleton deck - In Progress

Questions? Comments? Enthusiastic Emoji?

We're here for that! Put them in the comments or message us on Kickstarter, or email us at [email protected]
